Wave Watcher Terms and Conditions

Service

Wave Watcher provides recurring marine forecast briefings by email or SMS for selected Lake Erie nearshore areas. Briefings may include wind, wave conditions, forecast timing, and a GO, CAUTION, or NO-GO boating recommendation based on available forecast data and subscriber preferences.

No safety guarantee

Wave Watcher is an informational planning aid and is not a substitute for official marine forecasts, emergency alerts, local conditions, required safety equipment, or your own judgment. Conditions can change quickly. You are responsible for deciding whether conditions are safe for your boat and crew.

SMS terms

If you opt into SMS delivery by checking the optional SMS opt-in box and providing a phone number, you agree to receive recurring SMS marine forecast briefings and service messages from Wave Watcher. If you do not opt into SMS, Wave Watcher sends your paid briefings by email instead and does not send text messages. Message and data rates may apply to SMS delivery. Message frequency varies based on your subscription, preferences, and boating-season delivery schedule.

Reply STOP to pause messages. Reply START to resume messages. Reply HELP for help. You can also contact stephen@walentik.net for support.

Billing and cancellation

Paid subscriptions are processed securely by Stripe. You may cancel through your account page where available or by contacting support. Cancellation stops future Wave Watcher briefings after it is processed.
